The Hivumuuniaqtugut oral history archive brings together historical materials to tell the story of Uqsuqtuuq through Inuit history.

Looking Back to Move Forward – Digital Oral History Archive

At the centre of the Hivumuuniaqtugut Oral History Project is the digital oral history archive. This archive will consist of a digital display of all interviews, historical photos, audio recordings, and other collected materials from the project. The archive will be accessed as a touchscreen interactive kiosk that will showcase the history of the Nattilik Region, as told by Elders from the community. As the project grows, we will add more resources to it.

The archive will store a variety of interviews with Elders, historical photos, video, and maps of the community. These will be prepared in an interactive format designed specifically to be accessible to youth in Inuktitut and English.
